Account Admins, as well as Members who have tagging privileges, can add tags to or delete tags from products in Projects and Libraries. Only people with tagging privileges will see a small blue Add tag button on products; everyone else will simply see the tags, if any, that have been added.
Tags added to or deleted from a product in a Project or Library only affect that instance of a product; that is, adding a tag to or deleting a tag from a product in one Project does not affect the tags applied to that same product in other Projects or Libraries. Account Admins, however, can update tag text or delete a tag across all Projects and Libraries.
Adding tags
Users with tagging privileges can add new or existing tags to a product, and can add multiple tags at once.
Adding existing tags
- Click the blue Add tag button on the product.
- The Add tag popup will appear.
- Use the typeahead feature in the Search current tags field to find existing tags.
- If you aren’t sure what tags are available to add, click the See all tags link to open the Tags page in a new window for reference.
- Hit your Return or Enter key to select a tag.
- Repeat steps 3-4 to add as many existing tags as you want.
- Click Save to save the tags to the product.
Adding a new tag
- Click the blue Add tag button on the product.
- The Add tag popup will appear.
- Enter the new tag name in the Create new tag field. Tag names are limited to 40 characters.
- Click on the color swatch next to the form field to load a color palette and choose a color. You can choose any color, including the ones for Good, Better and Best.
- Click Save to save the new tag and add it to the product.
Deleting tags
Any user with tagging privileges can delete a tag from a product by clicking the small x icon visible on the tag. Clicking this icon will immediately remove the tag from the product, but will not remove it from any other copies of the product in use in other Projects or Libraries.
Account Admins can delete a tag from the organization’s Project Builder & Library subscription, which will automatically remove it from products in all Projects and Libraries.
